Pool Volume Calculator
Calculate the water volume of a rectangular, round or oval pool with a sloping floor.
Why the volume matters more than the size
Every pool chemical is dosed per unit of water, not per square metre of surface. Getting the volume wrong by 20% means every dose is wrong by 20% for as long as you own the pool. Measure the actual depths rather than trusting the brochure: pool floors slope, and the average depth is what counts.
What this page needs from you
This page asks for pool shape, length or diameter in m, width in m, shallow end depth in m and deep end depth in m. From those it returns pool volume in m³. Every figure updates as you type, and nothing you enter leaves your browser.
Running short costs more than over-ordering
A second delivery carries its own charge, materials from a different batch may not match, and a job halted halfway often has to be redone at the join. Ordering slightly long is cheap insurance against all three.
Measure twice, and allow for waste
A 5% error on one dimension becomes 10% on an area and 15% on a volume, which is why checking the tape matters more than the arithmetic. On top of the measured quantity, allow the trade standard of 10% for cuts and breakage, and 15 to 20% for diagonal layouts, complex shapes or anything cut around obstacles.
The formula
Rectangular: length × width × average depth. Round: π · r² × average depth
Every result on this page comes from this formula. Nothing is rounded until the final display, so figures match a spreadsheet to the cent.

Pool Volume Calculator — frequently asked questions
Is this pool volume calculator free to use?
Yes. Every calculator on the site is free, needs no sign-up, and runs entirely in your browser, so your figures never leave your device.
How accurate is the result?
The maths is exact for the formula shown on the page. Accuracy in the real world depends on your inputs and on assumptions the formula cannot see, so treat the output as a well-grounded estimate rather than a quote.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. The page is responsive, weighs a few kilobytes and works offline once loaded, so it behaves the same on a phone as on a desktop.
