Grade Point Average Converter
Convert a percentage grade between the US 4.0 scale, UK honours bands and the Indian 10-point CGPA.
These conversions are approximations
No official mapping exists between national grading systems, and universities publish their own tables that disagree with each other. A UK 70% first is not a US 4.0 — British marking rarely awards above 80, while an American A starts at 90. Use this to get oriented, then use the target institution's own conversion table for anything that matters.
The formula
US GPA ≈ percentage ÷ 25; CGPA ≈ percentage ÷ 9.5
Every result on this page comes from this formula. Nothing is rounded until the final display, so figures match a spreadsheet to the cent.
