Fresh water adds about 98 kPa of pressure every 10 m, which is almost exactly one atmosphere. That is why divers talk in atmospheres absolute: at 10 m you are at 2 ATA, at 20 m 3 ATA. Seawater is 2.5% denser, so the same pressure arrives slightly shallower.
